About Me

Who Am I?

I once gave a talk about this at a retreat; how one shouldn’t be judged by the labels that can be attributed to her.  But I suppose that doesn’t work for a bio . . .

I am a woman, who very often still feels like the girl trying desperately to grow up.

I am a wife, blessed enough to have found an amazing partner who believes in me more than I do myself.

I am a mother, totally devoted to the cause, but oftentimes feeling as if I’ve fallen short of the goal.

I am confident, but riddled by anxiety that always seems to show up in the form of self-doubt.

I am talented, but try to temper it with modesty.

I love to sing, laugh, tell stories, dance, have fun, but sometimes my inclination toward shyness gets in the way.

I am totally obsessed with finding meaning in the world and my place in it.

I am an INFJ, a Virgo, an only child, and I speak for the trees.

I’m so glad you came to read my blog and hope you come back again.

  2. Nice blog. I just started blogging about a week ago so I am going through the growing pains. It has been way too long since I have written and it feels good to be back in the saddle. Come see my blog some time. Gene Gray

      Thanks, Gene. I will!

I find that blogging holds you accountable to that schedule you set for yourself. As people come to expect your post on a given day, it’s hard to slough it off the way you might that chapter that needs writing. That said, I need to make sure it’s good writing practice that gets me primed for actually writing that chapter!

  3. I found your writing to be a breath of fresh air considering some of the ones I’ve seen. I was drawn to yours by the mention of the Whote Mountains. I grew up there. I am a native New Englander whose grandparents lived in the shadows of Mt. Washington. Before cable we had but one TV station. Thank God the Bionic Woman was on that channel when I was growing up! lol
I have added you as one of my favorites to follow. You are only the second one I’ve done that for. Kudos for you that you exceeding my discriminating tastes.

  5. My mom had drinking issues and died when I was 17, but her love came through; life is not easy as a parent. Jennifer; I am working on my wordpressblog award and realize I like others outside of wordpress, can I mention them too?

I know that no matter what their trials or triumphs, parents find a way to show their love. Thank you for that reminder.

Re the award: why not!? One big happy family!

Thank you, Catherine, for coming by – and for your kind words. Do we ever answer that question (what we want to be) and do we ever grow up!?

Ah, the potatoes analogy. I am a fan of French fries, (that’s my lunch today, LOL, here is to passing fried potatoes :D), and this bit, ‘throw another potato in the pot’ just made me smile.

on the real though, i love the contrasts in your bio, aren’t they like reflective of our lives?
